Faulkner Unit Two Booking Overview

Faulkner County Detention Center Unit Two Booking is operated by the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office under Sheriff Tim Ryals. The official jail page identifies Unit Two as the booking and intake facility at 500 S German Ln in Conway. It also houses adult men and adult women. FCSO names Captain Doug Hunter as jail administrator and lists Unit Two email as Unit2@fcso.ar.gov.

Unit Two is the most important building for new arrests because the booking computer record starts there. FCSO says people are brought to Unit Two under arrest or committed by a Faulkner County court. Staff initiate the jail record, take fingerprints and photo images, complete classification and suicide-prevention screening, review medical and mental-health referrals, give entrance information, and secure property.

Because Unit Two creates the intake record, it is central to the public adult roster. The profile may show a mugshot, booking number, arresting agency, booking date, charges, bond, age, gender, race, and VINELink. Those numbers are distinct from Unit One and juvenile detention. Unit Two is not only the booking desk. It also houses adult detainees after intake and classification. In 2024, Unit Two male monthly averages declined from early-year levels above 200 to 128 in October and 133 in December. Female monthly averages were near or above the 88-capacity mark early and midyear, including 89 in April and May, then fell to 67 in September and October.

A newly arrested person may not be ready for video visitation or general-population services until booking is complete and the person is placed. The roster should be treated as a public convenience record, not a certified court file. Faulkner Unit Two Address

Unit Two is the practical contact point for booking, intake, property pickup, account funding, and many new-arrest questions. The building is near other justice-system offices in Conway, including the prosecutor's office on South German Lane.

Faulkner Unit Two Video Visits

FCSO states that Unit Two has updated to video visitation only, except attorney conferences and other visits approved by the Jail Administrator. A video visit can only be made once a detainee has been released from Booking and placed in general population. That rule is important for families checking on a new arrest. A person can be in the booking process but not yet eligible for a video visit.

Participation is a privilege. FCSO may deny, cancel, or terminate visits before or during a session based on conduct. Recordings and photographs of any kind are not allowed during visitation. Clothing and conduct rules apply to both visitor and detainee.

Unit Two is the in-person account funding location for FCDC detainee accounts. Faulkner Unit Two Booking Intake

The Unit Two intake process begins when a person is brought in under arrest or committed by a Faulkner County court. Booking staff initiate the computer record, identify the detainee through fingerprints and photo images, and maintain those records. Classification includes an assessment and a suicide-prevention screening form. Medical and mental-health referrals can be recommended, and precautions can be started when needed to protect the detainee.

Property is also handled during booking. FCSO says property taken during booking is secured, stored, and tracked. Detainees can request a property release form. The outside person named on the form must call to make an appointment, and pickup occurs Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Unit Two. If the appointment is made on a property-release day, pickup happens on the next available release day.

Clothing rules are specific. Fully white clothing without logos or designs may be kept if the person arrives with it. Friends or family who bring in white clothing are turned away. Clothing generally cannot be released until the detainee is sentenced because it may be needed if the person is released.

About Faulkner Unit Two Custody

Unit Two is not a state prison, federal prison, or immigration detention facility. It is a county jail booking and adult housing unit. If a person is transferred to ADC custody, appears as an ADC inmate housed in county backup, or is listed under Act 309/work classifications, the Arkansas DOC locator becomes relevant.
