Faulkner Unit One Jail Overview
Faulkner County Detention Center Unit One is operated by the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office under Sheriff Tim Ryals. The official jail page describes Unit One as the maximum-security building for adult male detainees. It sits at 801 Locust St in Conway and is tied closely to the administrative and courthouse-area jail functions. FCSO names Captain Doug Hunter as jail administrator for the detention center system.
The sheriff's jail page says the sheriff has custody, rule, and charge of the jail and prisoners committed in the county, citing Arkansas Code section 12-41-502. In practical terms, that is why Unit One custody information appears through the sheriff roster rather than through the circuit clerk, the prosecutor, or the Arkansas Department of Corrections. Unit One detainees are part of the adult county jail population.
The FCSO jail page shows Unit One and Unit Two facility details, capacity notes, booking, bond, property, mail, phone, visitation, commissary, and proof-of-incarceration rules.
The jail page is the best local source for distinguishing Unit One from Unit Two Booking before calling or traveling.
Faulkner Unit One Inmate Population
Official sources give two Unit One capacity figures, and both should be preserved. The sheriff jail page lists Unit One capacity as 118 adult male detainees. The January 2026 FCSO monthly stats for Quorum Court list Unit 1 capacity as 113. That same January 2026 report listed an average headcount of 158, with highs of 161 on January 9 and January 15. The January average exceeded both published capacity figures.
The 2024 FCSO stats show sustained pressure at Unit One. Monthly average headcounts ranged from 173 to 202, and several monthly highs rose above 200. Those figures are important because Unit One is the maximum-security adult male unit, not the booking building and not the female housing category. The data also explains why bond, transfer, ADC backup, and housing classification details can change quickly.

Look Up Faulkner Unit One Inmates
The correct lookup channel for Unit One is the FCSO adult roster. The roster covers current adult Faulkner County Detention Center detainees and a 48-hour release view. The sample profile inspected did not display a Unit One or Unit Two housing field, so a public profile should not be treated as proof of exact building placement. Use the roster to confirm current custody, then call the jail if building, bond, charges, court date, case number, or release status matters.
- Open the FCSO roster disclaimer and choose current inmates.
- Search by first name or last name, or sort newest to oldest when the booking is recent.
- Open the profile to review booking number, mugshot, age, arresting agency, booking date, charges, bond, and VINELink.
- Call 501-450-4914 or Unit One at 501-450-4995 when the profile does not confirm the exact building or current bail amount.
People sentenced to Arkansas Department of Corrections custody may appear in the state locator instead of, or in addition to, county jail records. The DOC search includes Faulkner-related filters such as Faulkner County Waiting List and Faulkner Cty 309-In Jail, but those are not separate prison pages in Faulkner County.
Faulkner Unit One Address
Unit One is the best contact point for the maximum-security building and proof-of-incarceration purchases. FCSO says proof of incarceration indicates the days and time a detainee came in and left the facility. The jail page says that document costs $2 cash only and can only be purchased at Unit One. Property pickup is different. All FCDC property pickup is at Unit Two.

Faulkner Unit One Visitation
FCSO publishes video visitation as the general visitation method for the detention center system. The jail page says Unit Two has updated to video visitation only except attorney conferences and visits approved by the Jail Administrator. Video visitation can be made only after a detainee is released from Booking and placed in general population. Since Unit One is not described as a public walk-in visitation building, confirm the current visit path before making plans.
| Visit Type | Timing | Rules |
|---|---|---|
| Video visitation | After release from Booking to general population | Handled through JailATM; visits can be denied, cancelled, or ended for conduct. |
| Attorney conference | Not publicly scheduled | Exception to video-only policy. |
| Jail Administrator-approved visit | By approval | Exception to video-only policy. |
Visitors may not record or photograph video visits. FCSO says all use of the video visit system is recorded and monitored by certain employees. Nudity, tight-fitting clothing, and provocative clothing can lead to suspension of visitation privileges.
Faulkner Unit One Mail and Money
Mail rules differ by mail type. FCSO lists legal mail at the 801 Locust St address, which fits Unit One and the sheriff administrative address. All other mail uses the Amity Road PMB address. Correspondence must list the detainee's first and last name and the correct address. FCDC no longer accepts reading materials purchased outside the facility, and Amazon book orders are not allowed.
| Service | Provider or Detail |
|---|---|
| Legal mail | 801 Locust St, Conway, AR 72034 |
| All other mail | 500 Amity Rd Ste 5B, PMB 53, Conway, AR 72032 |
| Video and electronic messaging | JailATM |
| Commissary deposits | AccessCorrections |
| Phone and account funding | Correct Solutions, online/app, or funds added at Unit Two |
FCSO does not publish a fee schedule for JailATM, AccessCorrections, or Correct Solutions on the jail page. Funds for phone and detainee accounts can also be added at Unit Two, not Unit One. Detainees with money in their account may buy items such as candy and toiletries, subject to facility limits.
Faulkner Unit One Jail Records
New arrests are booked at Unit Two, not Unit One. Unit Two starts the computer record, takes fingerprints and booking photos, conducts suicide-prevention screening, reviews medical and mental-health referrals, secures property, and tracks the detainee through processing. Once a detainee is classified and placed, custody may involve Unit One if the person fits the maximum-security adult male housing role.
That flow affects records. A Unit One inmate profile may still be based on the Unit Two booking record. The public roster can show the photo, booking number, charges, bond, and arresting agency, but it does not promise a housing field. For older booking records or proof documents, use the sheriff FOIA page, the county NextRequest portal, or the Unit One proof-of-incarceration process.
About Faulkner Unit One Custody
Unit One is one part of a two-building adult detention system. Unit Two is the booking and adult male/female housing building, while Unit One is the maximum-security adult male unit. Juvenile detention is separate and is not covered by the adult roster in the same way. Federal and immigration custody should be checked through BOP or ICE systems only after the county roster and jail phone line do not resolve the question.
The sheriff app is also part of the local access chain. FCSO advertises the Faulkner County AR Sheriff app with inmate, most-wanted, sex-offender, press-release, alert, FAQ, contact, and crime-tip features. App information can help when a user needs sheriff alerts or local roster access from a mobile device, but urgent custody, bond, and release facts should still be verified with the jail.
Note: Confirm custody, building assignment, and visitation status with FCSO before traveling to Unit One.
